Security Posture Score

How your security posture score is calculated and what it means.

Your security posture score measures how well your LobsterHoney deployment is configured to detect AI agent threats. It reflects your readiness -- not the threats themselves. A high score means your traps are deployed, verified, diverse, and backed by alerts.

Score Components

The posture score is calculated from several factors:

ComponentWhat It Measures
Deployment statusWhether your beacon or proxy is deployed and verified
Trap coverageHow many trap types (file, config, api, page) are active
Trap diversityWhether your active traps span multiple categories and attack surfaces
Alert configurationWhether Slack, email, or webhook notifications are set up
Proxy modeWhether you use proxy mode for deeper trap integration (Pro)
VerificationWhether your deployment has passed its most recent verification check

Each component contributes to your overall percentage score. Meeting all criteria produces a perfect score.

Improving Your Score

Deploy and verify

Make sure your beacon or proxy is deployed and passing verification. An unverified deployment reduces your score significantly.

Activate diverse trap types

Enable traps across all four categories (file, config, api, page). A deployment using only one trap type leaves coverage gaps.

Configure alerts

Set up at least one notification channel -- Slack, email, or a webhook endpoint. Without alerts, detections may go unnoticed. See Alert Setup.

Upgrade to proxy mode

If you are on the Free plan, your traps are served from the beacon domain. Upgrading to Pro and enabling proxy mode integrates traps directly into your domain for more realistic coverage.

Your posture score measures your readiness to detect threats, not the volume or severity of threats detected. A site with zero detections can still have a perfect posture score if it is well-configured.

Score and Remediation

Each component that lowers your score generates a specific remediation item. You can view and act on these items in the Remediation Tracker. As you address each item, your posture score updates automatically.
